On November 14, 2019, a seminar-practicum for history teachers on the topic: “Preparing a teacher and a student to perform the test tasks in the system of external independent assessment” was held at Rivne Medical Academy.
Hamuliak Stepan Bohdanovych, the head of the teaching and methodical department of the LRCEQ, introduced the attendees to the peculiarities of conducting the SFE in History of Ukraine in the form of EIA. The results of the fulfillment of the tasks of the EIA in History of Ukraine in 2019 were also announced. Emphasis is placed on the psychometric characteristics of the certification work. The tasks that were the easiest and the most difficult for graduates of educational institutions of the past years were analyzed.
The Delegation of the EU visited Rivne region according to the information campaign "Building Europe in Ukraine". Representatives of “Rivne Medical Academy” also participated in the meeting in Rivne Regional State Administration. The participants were presented with a series of training programs and opportunities implemented by the European Union for Ukrainians.
According to Svitlana Bohatyrchuk-Kryvko, the deputy head of Rivne Regional State Administration, the Association Agreement with the European Union, signed in 2014, provides many areas of cooperation, and most importantly, material and organizational support. “During these years, there were more than 10,000 exchanges of student delegations. In total, all EU programs in Ukraine have allocated more than 13 billion euros. There are also many EU funded projects in Rivne region. These are not only educational programs, but also in the field of culture and medicine”, said Svitlana Bohatyrchuk-Kryvko.
Stanislav Korolkov, the manager of the information campaign "Building Europe in Ukraine", informed the audience about the EU educational programs. Currently, more than 300 EU sectoral projects are being implemented on the territory of the country, which are free of charge for Ukrainian citizens.
“This is a huge program to support any educational initiative. So far, the Program is calculated until 2020, but it should be continued. It is open not only for students, but also for teachers, public organizations”, said the office manager.
We are happy to inform you that on the 14th of November, 2019 the regional scientific - practical conference "Modern laboratory diagnostics: history, realities and prospects of development" took place.
The forum was held under the motto Bene dignoscitur, bene curatur. (Properly diagnosed, well treated.) The audience heard very interesting reports-presentations of the departments “Laboratory diagnostics” of Rivne Regional Clinical Medical-Diagnostic Center after V. Polishchuk and Rivne Central City Hospital.
Topical issues of diagnosis of tuberculosis, Helicobacter pylori, HIV infection and screening of pathology of the cervix in cytological perspective were considered.
The students were given the opportunity to talk with employers and ask topical questions.

On the 14th of November, 2019, the students of the 3rd year of the “Pharmacy” department of Rivne Medical Academy had an excursion to Rivne forensic centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine under the guidance of teachers of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Yelahina N.V. and Honchar O.O.
The students visited the fingerprinting sector, the weapons research, explosive and biological research sectors, materials, substances and articles research department.
In the department of research of materials, substances and products of Rivne forensic center, the students got acquainted with the peculiarities of examination of narcotic, psychotropic substances and their analogues, precursors, alcohol-containing and fuel-lubricating liquids.
The students are grateful to the management and staff of the forensic center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Rivne region for the unique opportunity to get acquainted with the facilities of the center and a meaningful and interesting excursion.
Before World Diabetes Day, on the 14th of November, the meeting with a representative of the Rivne Public Health Center Kopel V.P., was in the Rivne Regional Scientific and Medical Library. Kopel V.P. presented the report “Diabetes prevention and healthy lifestyle”. The meeting was organized by library staff and teachers of Rivne Medical Academy: Zhylchuk L.M., Karpenko T.N., Demianchuk T.M., Horska O.V. and Kolachynska O.M. for the students of III and IV years of medical-pharmaceutical faculty.
On the 12th of November, 2019 a master class "Primary and secondary practice of strokes. Tactics of a therapist and family doctor during a stroke. Management of post-stroke patient and post-infarction patient" was held at Rivne Medical Academy.
The following questions were discussed at the workshop:
1. “Management of comorbid post-infarction and post-stroke patient” - doctor of medical sciences, prof. Osovska N.Yu.;
2. “Definitions and variants of a stroke. Primary and secondary prevention” - candidate of medical sciences, Shchepina N.V.;
3. “Tactics of a therapist and family doctor during a stroke. Doctor's tactics on emergency arrivals - candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Yuznishyna O.V.;
4. “Post-stroke patient management from the point of view of brain function restoration” - doctor of medical sciences, prof.
On the 7th of November, 2019, with the help of volunteers, the representatives of the students government board of Rivne Medical Academy visited the Rivne regional center for social services”.
The purpose of the meeting was: to educate the desire of the young generation to do good, the willingness to come to the aid of the needy; to develop in students personal traits of kindness, humanity, tolerance, compassion; to promote the formation of skills and desire for teens and young people to feel others' pain, not to be indifferent to those who need attention and support.
Every year on the 9th of November the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language is celebrated in Ukraine. It is celebrated in honor of the Ukrainian chronicler Nestor - a follower of the creators of Slavic writing Cyryl and Methodius. According to scientists, it is from his works that the Ukrainian language begins. Traditionally, in order to commemorate this holiday, on the 5th of November the session was held at Rivne Medical Academy under the slogan "Wisdom of the native word", which was prepared by the hostel teacher of the hostel number 3 Holovchenko V.I. with the students of the hostel of II, III, IV year of the department “Pharmacy”, “General Medicine”: Serediuk Bohdan, Vedenieiev Nazarii, Ososkalo Ivanna, Cheliadyn Mariana, Lisovets Svitlana, Sluchak Diana, Dymchuk Roman, Linnik Oleh. Also, the students of the amateur art academy team joined the festival.
The event allowed participants and listeners to look at the history of their people, to awaken a sense of national dignity, to understand the role of the mother tongue in the affirmation of Ukrainian statehood, to cultivate a love for the mother tongue, the native land, its traditions, a sense of respect for everything Ukrainian, the des ire to speak the native language.
On the 6th of November, 2019, the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference “Modern Aspects of Implementation of Scientific Clinical Institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine 2018-2019 based on evidence-based medicine from DUODECIM" was held at Rivne Medical Academy. The conference discussed the issues of diagnosis and treatment of patients with pulmonary embolism, acute coronary syndrome and acute cerebral circulation disorders in comorbid conditions. The most effective treatment regimens for pulmonary embolism with the use of low molecular weight heparins and pentasaccharides and methods of prevention with a coffee filter were considered. Academician V.Z. Netiazhenko focused on the current issues of antithrombotic therapy, outlined the risks of thromboembolism and bleeding, antithrombotic therapy in acute coronary syndrome and atrial fibrillation. The issues of prevention and treatment of hypertension and diabetes in different age groups were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the conservative treatment of "diabetic foot" and new methods of pre-surgical management of patients with this pathology.
In October 2019, the first Autumn School of Medical Education was organized at the Bukovyna State Medical University, organized by the Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Development of Medical Education” with the support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Swiss Bureau of Cooperation and Development. Rivne Medical Academy is one of three medical colleges of Ukraine involved in the project in the reform of higher medical education.
